At SMS on TOUR, we work hard to bring our followers the most up-to-date golfing equipment content, from the largest variety of professional and amateur golfers, all around the world. We value the everyday golf enthusiast – because that’s what we are too.

SMS on TOUR exists because of its community of loyal followers which is why this website has been built with its community front of mind. We will continue to bring you the content you already engage with, and we’ll be expanding into other forms of content. We can’t wait to see where this website takes our community. Can you?

John Whyte, Founder

John has been Head of Tour Operations for Sporting Insights since 2006. In his role, John has carried out the DP World Tour equipment census. This has enabled him to work alongside the world’s best golfers and manufacturers, all whilst travelling to every corner of the globe. In 2020 John started the @sms_on_tour Instagram page as a way of providing content and insights to golf equipment enthusiasts everywhere. As the popularity of SMS on TOUR grew on Instagram, so did the need to bring expanded and enhanced content to the follower-base. As a result, the SMS on TOUR website was created.

Jack Cornish, Tour Operations Executive

Jack relocated to the UK from Australia in 2023 after completing his studies in Sydney. Jack was introduced to John at The Open at Troon where he was conducting work for Sporting Insights. Jack saw John’s vision for SMS on TOUR, and wanted to be a part of it. Since then, Jack has worked with John to grow the SMS on TOUR Instagram and to develop the new website, whilst travelling on tour.
